Steam train rides every weekend
Bring your museum experience to life with a 40-minute steam train ride from historic Thirlmere Station to Buxton and return.
Departs Thirlmere Station several times every Saturday & Sunday.

Heritage train rides EVERY DAY these school holidays
In addition to our usual weekend steam train rides, the NSW Rail Museum will be operating 30-minute rail motor rides every weekday from 28 June — 9 July.
Food and drink options
On weekends, a limited range of pre-made sandwiches, salads and snacks are available, along with tea, hot chocolates and coffee.
On weekdays, we encourage visitors to stop by one of the many local cafes, pubs or restaurants — either before or after your visit to the NSW Rail Museum. For more information on local eateries visit the Visit Wollondilly website.
With over 10,000 square metres of lawns and sheltered picnic tables, the grounds are the perfect place to have a picnic – don’t forget a rug!
