Steam train rides with 3001 run daily 8-12 October 2025, departing Thirlmere Station to Buxton and return at: 11.00am | 12.15pm | 2.00pm

Workshops take place on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays during the school holidays at the following times:

A small range of drinks, tea, coffee, pre-made sandwiches, salads and snacks are available from the NSW Rail Museum Kiosk.

With over 10,000 square metres of lawns and sheltered picnic tables, the grounds are the perfect place to have a picnic – don’t forget a rug!

All tickets are for entry to the NSW Rail Museum from 10.00am to 4.00pm on weekdays and 9.00am to 5.00pm on weekends.

'Museum only' includes all activities, except a steam train ride.

Children under 2 are admitted FREE but must sit on adults lap during train ride.

The NSW Rail Museum reserves the right to change locomotive power without notice, however will endeavour to notify customers of this change should the need arise for operational reasons.
