COVID-19:
REOPENING & KEEPING YOU SAFE

We're committed to continuing to keep our customers, volunteers and staff safe, so we will be opening slowly and in accordance with the NSW Government’s Reopening Roadmap.

Our reopening plan

 

NSW Rail Museum

The NSW Rail Museum and Loop Line heritage train rides will return as follows:

  • From 23 October — the Museum will be open weekends only, however their will be no heritage train rides.
     

  • From November — the Museum will be open weekends only, with heritage train rides every weekend.
     

  • From 4 December — the Museum will be open 7 days a week (closed 23 - 26 December), with heritage train rides on 4 - 5 and 11 - 12 December only.
     

  • From 1 January — the Museum will be open 7 days a week, with heritage train rides from 1 - 26 January.

Main line heritage train experiences

From early 2022, we will recommence main line operations with an exciting program of rail heritage experiences across Greater Sydney and NSW.

Of course, these are all subject to change with the NSW Public Health Orders.

Keeping you safe

 

At the NSW Rail Museum

  • As per NSW Government guidelines, all visitors over 16 years must either be fully vaccinated or have a medical exemption.

  • All visitors must check-in using the Service NSW QR code and show proof of vaccination

  • All visitors must wear a face mask where required

  • If you feel unwell please do not visit the museum, contact us to rearrange your visit or gain a refund

  • We’ve limited the number of visitors and increased our cleaning across the museum, including regular sanitation of touchpoints

  • Hand sanitiser is available across the museum

  • You can do your part by washing your hands regularly. Our toilets will be open across the museum and station

Onboard our heritage trains

​In addition to the above:

  • Give yourself plenty of time and always maintain social distancing to keep you and other passengers safe

  • Wear a face mask where required. 

  • Wash or sanitise your hands regularly

  • Board the train at the carriage allocated on your ticket

  • You must sit in your allocated seat.  Please don't change seats unless requested to do so.

  • Follow directions given by our staff
